John Edwin "Ned" Moffat, younger brother of Gary Jr. and Stephen and son of J. Gary Moffat '78 and Eleanor K. McManus Moffat '78 was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. He played football, basketball, and baseball for Ohio's GCL powerhouse Cincinnati St. Xavier. He was a member of the 2007 team that won the Division 1 Ohio State Championship where he played cornerback and special teams for the Bombers. The Bombers finished their 2007 season ranked as high as #1 Nationally in Rise Magazine and Prep Nation as well as #2 in the USA Today rankings. In his senior campaign, the Bombers beat nationally ranked #2 Prattville, Alabama and nationally ranked #3 Bishop Don Bosco Prep, New Jersey. The 2008 Bombers lost to eventual Ohio State Champions Cleveland St. Ignatius in overtime by a field goal. As a high school athlete, Ned enjoyed playing under the lights for a big name program in Ohio and looks forward to playing for as presitigous a program as Princeton.
Ned chose Princeton for the ability to be a student-athlete, as he plans to major in engineering (chemical/biomedical/environmental). He was a National Honor Society Officer for St. Xavier High School where he enjoyed his math and science classes.
