Albert "Chip" Payne
Offensive / Defensive Line
Chip Payne is in his second season at Princeton. He coaches the offense
and defensive lines and is the special teams coordinator. He has helped
develop a young, talented rotation of lineman led by Richard Hagner and
Sam Gulland.
Prior to coming to Princeton, Payne served as an assistant coach at
Hopewell Area School District (Western Pennsylvania) 2001-2004 coaching
offensive and defensive lines. During that stint the Vikings won several
conference titles, a WPIAL and PIAA State Title. He spent the previous
nine seasons as the defensive coordinator/line coach at Center Area
School District, where they had several conference titles and playoff
appearances.
A native of Pittsburgh, Pa., Payne played as an offensive/defensive
lineman at Westminster College, where they won the NAIA Division II
National Titles in 1988 and 1989. He received his bachelor's degree in
accounting in 1989.
Payne is the Director of Financial Operations for the National
Consortium for Graduate Degrees for Minorities in Engineering and
Science, Inc.
